True African Black soap is not black. It is a marbled natural looking brown color. We The liquid version is a dark brown color. The smell of unrefined palm oils and Shea butter is a bit nutty and organic.
Plantain skins are dried to a precise texture in the hot African sun. The skins are then roasted in a clay oven to achieve a particular color, texture, and fragrance. This plantain skin base is carefully mixed with palm oil, palm kernel oil, and generous amounts of ivory Shea Butter. Water is added to the softened soap base to formulate the liquid version of this amazing soap.
It is unscented, uncolored, and unrefined.
